This privacy policy explains how Stuart Leech (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects and uses your personal information when you visit stuartleech.com (the “site”), sign up to my newsletter, or buy a print or publication. I am the data controller responsible for your information.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at stuart@stuartleech.com.
What information I collect
I only collect information you give me directly, or that is needed to run the site:
- Newsletter sign-ups — your email address (and name, if you provide it).
- Orders for prints and publications — your name, delivery and billing address, email address, and order details. Payment is handled securely by Stripe — I never see or store your full card details.
- Website use — a small number of strictly necessary cookies (see the Cookies section below).
How I use your information and why
| What I use it for | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Sending you my newsletter | Your consent (you can unsubscribe at any time) |
| Processing and delivering your order | To perform our contract |
| Responding to your enquiries | My legitimate interests / performing our contract |
| Keeping records required by law (e.g. tax) | Legal obligation |
I will never sell your personal information, and I only use it for the purposes described here.
Who I share it with
I use a few trusted third-party services to run the site. They only receive the information they need to do their job:
- Loops — to manage newsletter sign-ups and send emails.
- Stripe — to manage my products and process payments securely.
- Delivery / postal services — to send you your prints and publications.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are covered by appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved data transfer agreements).
How long I keep your information
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Orders: for as long as needed to fulfil the order, plus the period required by law (usually 6 years for tax and accounting records).
Cookies
This site only uses strictly necessary cookies, which don’t require your consent:
__cf_bm(from Vimeo/Cloudflare) — helps tell humans and bots apart to keep embedded videos secure.elementor(local and session storage) — used by the site builder to display pages correctly.
I embed videos from Vimeo and YouTube. These are set to privacy-enhanced mode, which means they don’t set tracking cookies unless you actually play a video. If you play a video, Vimeo or YouTube may set their own cookies — you can review their privacy policies on their websites.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information I hold about you
- Ask me to correct or delete it
- Object to or restrict how I use it
- Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe) at any time
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these, just email me at stuart@stuartleech.com.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
